Holmegaard "Hogget" decanter
« on: March 31, 2017, 01:06:07 PM »
Hi All,

I've found this interesting Holmegaard decanter. I believe it's a Hogget decanter. The idea being that you pass the port round and nobody can 'hogget' because of the rounded base and then it ends up being returned to the separate stand. The label on it suggests it was made in 1984. It isn't signed and the designer is a mystery. I have checked through HarderNet.dk and done general online searches but nothing is coming up. Does anyone have any further information to offer please?

Many thanks,

Richard

Designed by Michael Bang in 1983 as part of the 'Danish Islands' series. Your decanter is called 'Fejų'.

The stand is a cooling bowl, which you'd top up with iced water or crushed ice to keep your drink chilled.

Wow, that's great. Not quite what I thought it was but very interesting none the less, I think. Thanks so much for all that information - much appreciated.

Richard
