Sunday 7th May is the date of the next National Glass Fair at its prestigious home, the National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull.
With around 80 stands, the exhibitors include specialists in all types and periods of glass.
We strive to achieve a good mix of both antique, collectable and contemporary pieces as we believe it is important that as many genres of glass as possible are represented in all of their diverse and fascinating forms. Glass is a wonderfully malleable material and lends itself to immense creativity; artists and artisans down the decades have produced such a huge variety of artefacts from the utilitarian to the finest decorative items, from exquisite jewellery to paperweights and from whimsical animal figures to Georgian drinking glasses etc.
There will also be a special exhibition of the work of the well known contemporary glassmaker Norman Stuart Clarke which will be located in Hall 1.
Refreshments are available from the popular restaurant on the first floor where visitors can discuss their purchases, meet with friends over a sandwich or a hot meal before perhaps having another look around (with the chance of that last-minute find!), or making their way home with their booty.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Open from 10.30am until 4.00pm, admission is £5 (accompanied children under 16 free of charge) and there is free parking.
