Holmegaard or not?
« on: April 21, 2017, 01:04:41 PM »
Hmmm I bought these convinced they were by Holmegaard, mostly due to the Smoky colour - but I can't find either cataloged anywhere.  Just wondering if anyone could point me towards where else I might look?

Many thanks

Steve

I don't even think they were made by the same company: one is greyish smoky brown and the other is brownish smoky brown

Are they anything to do with Caithness?

Glassobsessed (John) is normally good with these things.

Don't think so. Most Caithness was clear cased and the shapes aren't right for those that weren't. The trouble is that this sort of colour was pretty popular at one time, so they could have been made by an lot of companies

Agreed, all of the Scandinavian makers could be contenders as well as those from Germany, chances are the rest of Europe too...
