Don't know if you are aware why the "obscuring pattern" for the bowl.  Constance Spry was very into Floral Art - not Floristry.  Apparently her design was to take the eyes away from the stems to the all important flowers.

Hello Ross, yes I read about that in 20th Century British Glass a while ago, can't believe the prices people are asking for them now  ::) ;D ;D
