Topic: Webb vase, 1950s or earlier ?

9.75 inches tall, fair amount of wear and with a mark I've not seen before, looked in Nigel's book and through 20th Century.B. Glass ?

Nice piece Keith  -  sorry, but can't help.                Polished lenses were a fairly common decorative feature on vases from most of the big factories mid 1930s to mid 1950s.         The mark is an oddity  -  can only think this is indicating a limited edition perhaps - I've not seen it before, and leaves us unsure as to which 'Webb' it might be.

Thanks Paul, the numbers 1/ 21 may well indicate that, there was a Webb crystal in London I believe but will have to look further, ta.

well done Keith  -  I so rarely look at W/Fs cut glass, since I never seem to find it.            Perhaps the word Webb was the name of a previous owner??           Well, should hopefully be worth a bob or two more than you paid for it.

Well Paul I was rather hoping it was a rare piece of Webbs but a Whitefriars vase by William Wilson will have to do
