So here we have a plate which I haven't seen before. Thoughts are it may be European mainland rather than British, possibly German?

The images on it are a contradiction - fashion, food, technical, even a windmill. Is it a 50 year celebration plate of a firm or public body?

ABC ? BCA ? CAB?

Any ideas?

really no idea - how about Associated British Companies  -   Confederation of British Companies  ??       Fifty years sounds likely.

It does seem to be a celebration of industry of some sort.

I did consider the British Chamber of Commerce and looking up their history, it's quite old, going back to the 19th century when it was known as the Association of British Chamber of Commerce, or ABCC - so that's close but not quite correct. Likely to be something in that ballpark though.

Experience teaches that anyone who begins to collect in any field can feel a change in his soul. He becomes a joyful man filled with a deeper empathy, and a more open understanding moves his soul.

ABC stands for 'Algemeen Bedrijfs Centrale' (General Business Agency) and the dishes were made in three sizes (large is more common, the smaller size (11") is also seen sometimes. Sadly the value is under 15 euros, but the design is actually rather good (if that's your style).
The eight panels represent the range of industrial sectors in Holland at the time;
Engineering, Services, Glass, Agriculture, Chemicals, Manufacturing,Construction.
