I went to see what, if anything, is available online for Australian design records, and this is the info page:
http://guides.slv.vic.gov.au/content.php?pid=313392&sid=3482341 and I also found a list of design classes here: http://lgdata.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/docs/258/705080/Australian%20Design%20Classes%201907.JPG but there were also design registers for the State of Victoria which appear to be separate from the Australia ones (just to confuse things further!) http://guides.slv.vic.gov.au/content.php?pid=313392&sid=2565082, and the classes there were slightly different too: http://lgdata.s3-website-us-east-1.amazonaws.com/docs/258/409584/1869%20Victorian%20Copyright%20Act%2014%20class.JPG

Basically it's a manual search job by the look of it, so unless we can persuade Paul to holiday in Oz.... (or have we an Australian member close by the archives who would like to do a lookup?)  ;)

Cheers! Anne, da tekniqual wizzerd
