I bought a very stunning piece of Rosenthal glass. Knowing that they are famous for porcelain I assume the glass is made for them. Anyone know if this is so and who makes it?

No wrong assumption - Rosenthal operates glassworks in Bad Soden and Amberg.

Pat over the last couple of years they have used some big name designers including Timo Sarpaneva so might be worth checking your piece out a bit more.

...and Tapio Wirkkala - designing for their glass and ceramics ranges.  I adore Rosenthal - such fabulous quality and cutting-edge designs.
