Lauscha stag and hounds?
« on: July 31, 2006, 04:45:59 PM »
I've succumbed to buying a very large lampwork sculpture of a stag and hounds.  I'm thinking it's Lauscha, but am getting a little tied in knots with it...I know it's hard to tell with lampwork, but does anyone have a clue?

with that quality there are only few possible makers - Lauscha is the most probable. Have you seen the spots on the dogs? Bow-wow!

Please don't say it Lynne.  I'm already worried about it...and then, as I'm going to re-sell it...it means it's my responsibility later.    I think it's a fabulous piece though.

It was the spots on the dogs that won me over too Ivo.  :D

Oh well, start collecting your bubble wrap and poly chips now.......

I just wish the airmail permissable dimensions were a bit more generous to allow for more overwrapping of delicate pieces like this.  The weight is going to be ok I would think, but the size of the box is ALWAYS a problem.

Or will you sell it UK only?
Thank you very much!

 Lynne...first I'll have to see if it turns up HERE ok!  Those doggy tails look pretty fragile to me.  Actually, I think I might keep it for a few months - it's like nothing I have already and I might want to admire it for a while.   :D

Oh, yes!  You can't let it go for a while.

mind you, I bought a gorgeous (to me anyway) set of blown glass Chinese dragons -  three in increasing sizes - nobody wanted them, I only paid £2 for them.

I said, Oh, they will be good for Chinese New Year I'll list them in January.

Oh, did I say that I bought them in 2000 and they are still on the mantelpiece????
Thank you very much!

Its gorgeous! With luck it will be signed.

Packing these need 50-100mm of cotton wool all around, bubble and polystyrene is too dense for such delicate items.

:D :D :D

Amazing work on this, Max, but I do not like the subject matter, grizzly.

It's got me looking again at a dragon I have. Frank told me it was not Pirelli, although it has the 3 colours in the eye.

The dragon has a bit coming out of it's mouth that looks like the fire it's breathing, and the firey bit looks just like the grassy bits on yours. This bit on the dragon glows like mad with UV.

I'm curious if your grassy bits are uranium!
