Pink and Black Murano Oball Bird
« on: October 09, 2017, 09:35:07 PM »
Hi,

I'm completely new to the world of glass. I've stumbled across some glass animals my parents collected back in the 1970s/1980s. I've been doing research to find more about the history of each and I've come across one I can't find any info on. Every Google search returns nothing of use and no images that match...does anyone have a link that could be useful for me?? Thanks! :)

Hello LizK, and firstly, welcome to the board. :)
Your glass pelican is beautifully and skilfully made.  A quality piece.
There are others here on the GMB who know more about Murano Oball glass than I do,  but if you could rub a little talcum powder over the writing on the base and take another photograph, I think you will find it shows up more clearly so that we can help you further.
Great photos by the way. :)

Hi LizK,

There are several threads in the GMB relating to the Oball company (search the board for "oball"), but none that I can see showing or giving info on a pelican like yours.

However, you can get some company information from the Oball website. Perhaps they would respond positively to an email request?
