Can anyone id this vase? ID = Krosno
« on: November 05, 2017, 03:57:34 PM »
Hi.  Hope someone can help with this vase.  Found in West Yorkshire it measures 19 cm high x approx 13 cm at the widest part and weighs just over 2 kg.  Very unusual design (well I've never seen anything like it), it looks as if the centre part of the vase has been pushed up to form a sphere / balloon shape in the centre to a height of about 10 cm.  No marks for any clues and I've had absolutely no success despite trawling through books and many searches on the web.  Could be Polish, Scandi, Chinese, Ikea, anything so I'm hoping that someone has or has seen something similar.  Thanks

It is a Krosno oil lamp that you are looking at upside down.  Needs a wick and ferrule.
