I need some help please...  I have acquired a very unusual glass "tree" or tree-shaped object that I have had no luck trying to find out about it.

It has a stem and base of a wine glass in blue.  The b ase is 4 ins across.  This blue glass is pulled up to about 10 inches tall and then green leaves have been applied into this to form a tree shape.   It is then covered in small quarter inch diameter Pomegranates or perhaps Oranges.
The leaves are all sizes and shapes.  Someone told me to look at Stevens and williams and it is certainly eccentric like some other objects I could find nothing similar.   The Underside of the Blue glass base has a rough pontil mark.

Thank you to anyone that can help

Most likely Salviati, late 19th century, another example here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,53743.0.html

Having seen your pictures of the flowers with the trees I am pretty certain these are Pomegranates and not Oranges which would also be held up by the shape of the trees.  Thanks again for your info

Pomegranates does tie in nicely, makes much more sense especially with the colour of those flowers (which was always a loose end).
