Mystery Set No. 116.
« on: February 02, 2020, 03:48:21 PM »
I know it's not proof-positive, but might it be a pointer towards Mystery no. 116 being another Buder set??

Ebay item no. 1741780224701 is mystery no. 116 as in GTS photos but this set has a ring-holder not in any of the photos.

It is for sale with the pin dish from Buder set 580, and a pair of candlesticks no. 3521 from the 1960 catalogue.

It might simply be a marriage of convenience, but in view of previous examples of their mix-and-match sets could it be worth filing for future reference.?

Very sorry the ebay number is 174178024701 (I added an extra "2").

Sorry again but I don't know how to do links.

The item is on the .uk site and is still live.

I'm off to the hospital shortly, if you haven't found the item by the time I get back I'll google how to do a link and attempt to follow instructions.
Dave.

Hi Dave, Thanks for the link which I can now see.  This is definitely a mixed marriage - candlesticks and dish are indeed Buder, the tray, pots and ringholder are mystery 116 which may or may not Buder, but it's certainly not in their 1960 catalogue.  The mystery 116 candlesticks are so distinctive they should jump out at us, but I've not see them in any maker's catalogue as yet, but I'm keeping looking. I'll ask the seller if I can use their photos for the GTS website.

I'm trying to add the clickable link to the ebay listing but it isn't working.

One way ctrl v erases what I've written here.  Another way moves the ebay url to the top of the reply page but it doesn't put it in the text.

These things are never as easy as they make out!!!.

Sometimes technology tries to trip us up, methinks, Dave!   See my techie tip here how to tame those ebay links. ;) https://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,19556.0.html
