Thanks everyone for your thoughts on  the Sevres Piece . Iíve   come  to  the conclusion its late fifties early sixties and that its intended use was as a lamp base. I enclose my latest  picture of the piece in use a vase. I think it looks pretty good. Hope the size of the picture is ok this time.

I'm not so sure about yours ... mainly the well in the middle - It makes me think it was meant to hold something.  I had been wondering if it might have been one of those giant chemists perfume bottle display things iykwim?
