ID help. Skrdlovice ? Designer? Date?
« on: March 16, 2018, 02:59:47 PM »
A beautiful vase but ........

I recently purchased three vases, in the Czech Republic, from a young lady ( they had been in her family) who assured me they were all Skrdlovice. Two were immediately identifiable as Petr Hora from the 1980's (they are also beautiful) but the attached is a bit of a mystery to me.

The vase is approximately 28 cm tall, 9 cm across the top and the main 'bulb' is 11 cm. The vase is primarily 'zeleny' glass with entrained small bubbles, clear glass encased with the decoration on the 'bulb' red, yellow, ochre, blue +++ glass. A very complicated piece.

I have spent some time looking through the on-line Skrdlovice catologue to try and identify it but with very tired eyes I decided to turn to all you experts on line.

Hopefully someone recognises the vase and can identify it for me.

Thank you all in anticipation of your help.

Hi experts

I contacted the original owners again to find out how she knew this vase was Skrdlovice. She told me they were purchased, by her grandfather, from SKLÁRNA BERÁNEK VE ŠKRDLOVICÍCH - which in English is a glass shop for the Beranek works based in Skrdlovice. Unfortunately the shop is now closed.

This tells me, however, that the vase must be Skrdlovice so if anyone can help with the designer and date this would be fantastic.

Thank you.
