Topic: Help Identifying Vases

Hi Everyone, I was left our family vases when my grandmother recently passed away.
Can anyone help me identify where they originated and how old they are?
They have been in our family since at least 1900 which is when my great great gran passed them down. My family are descendants of the Tasmanian Aboriginals and Mauri's from New Zealand.
They are very precious to me and I was wondering if I should see if they are worth getting a museum to display and look after them.

Hi, welcome to the board!
Lovely vase, so called "Tango glass", very popular in the 1920s and 30s, and produced by several Bohemian (Czechoslovakian) glassworks. 

According to this experienced collector your vase seems to be a piece made by Loetz >> https://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/69670-loetz-tango-enamel--2-bird-of-paradis
Tango glass wasn't introduced before 1913, so the vase was produced a little later than you suggested

Loetz is a very, very good name and you seem to have something very unusual, they truly are worthy of your admiration, beyond the pricelessness of what they mean to you. Enjoy them.

Thank you so very much, this means so much to find out more about them. For the years they have been in the family no one ever knew anything about hem so I cant wait to do more research now. What a fabulous board this is. Thanks Again!!
