Your photos are way too small to be easily seen.  They are about 16Kb whereas your size limit is 125Kb.  That means you could resize your original photos to about 500 x 500 and maybe even larger.  Can you also post a photo of the top view.  The base view suggests a style I think was called a Marbrie - but those more expert than I will no doubt shudder at my guess.

Hi, thanks for your suggestion - I've tried to enlarge so I hope these are better.  If not please be patient, I will try again!  The image 2720 is actually looking down on the top of the paperweight.

Hi.  Very similar warning stickers appeared on Chinese products a few years back, but these may have been added by importers rather than at source.  It does not remind me of any Chinese pieces I have seen though - but maybe it is an import from central Europe?
