Topic: Please help Identify my Horse

Hello, I have acquired this good sized glass horse in a rearing position.  I have never seen a glass horse figure this tall and especially in such good detail.  The body of the horse is a frosted finish and the mane, tail and hooves are in clear coloured glass.  The main colour is amber/orange and it looks a little dirty coloured in places.

Measures 29cm tall and 22cm across.  I have the impression my grandparents must have stuck the horse to this black glass plinth but it looks ok and I am not 100% surer about that.  I would love to know some more about this piece,. I have searched the internet and seen 100s of examples of glass horses but only a few match this sort of clarity of its moulding?  (i am assuming its  moulded).

It might be a piece of Liuligongfang or similar maybe?
It has similarities but the base is odd. So perhaps not.

It is unusual modeling and the mane treatment suggests Chinese to me. In which case probably not a lot of age.

Hello, thanks for your comments and obviously it is not something very common as a) we would have found a similar example or b) you would have probably recognised it.  But,  I can assure you it will not be a piece of modern Chinese Glass as my Grandparents just would't  have bought something that wasn't worth buying as that was their nature.  They also had a habit of sticking bases on things I suppose as they purchased them for their own use and not as investments but  -we did find that a very nice vase with Iron framing on it that was bought from France and was a very famous make.

Not all modern Chinese glass is worthless. It certainly looks like a Dainte Inc. horse and their animals have a Liuligongfang  look, neither of which are cheap. The base looks like a vintage glass base

No western maker would have made it in that style and Liuligongfang are 30 years in business. Their work is sought after, worth contacting them with a picture.
