Here's a strange one
« on: September 21, 2018, 02:15:07 AM »
I recently picked up this vase from a local thrift store because it intrigued me. A quick internet search located another one just like it, which sold for a pretty penny when attributed to Blenko. https://www.1stdibs.com/furniture/dining-entertaining/glass/rare-blenko-gourd-tangerine-orange-pebbled-textured-glass-vessel-vase/id-f_1621052/

I am pretty certain it is not Blenko (although if I'm wrong it could be tangerine colour). The interesting part is the texture, which looks and feels like orange peel. It is lightly cased in clear glass over the dark orange, and has a rough pontile at the bottom.

It is quite large, measuring 12" w x 8"h with a 4" opening (30cm x 20cm x 10cm)

Does anyone have any suggestions? I have no idea where to even start!
