It's 12 inches high and quite stunning i must say. Don't think it's old, though i could be wrong.  :)

I am not sure who made it but it is a fine piece and looks genuine ie not Chinese or eastern europe.
Clean and Crisp a Murano twist.
Archimede tops my list.
