Baccarat(?) glass & gilt stamp box
« on: October 06, 2018, 09:41:37 AM »
Hi, I'm hoping someone can confirm that the attached stamp box was made by Baccarat & approximately when. It was sold in a dedicated stamp box saleby Spink (Blue Eyes Collection) on 15 July 2009, Lot 290. Thanks for any help.

Hi stephend and welcome to the board :)

I'm sorry for the late reply and I can't help with identification of your  box at the moment.
Can you load some more photographs please with close up of the engraving and the base etc?

It might help someone else who has more knowledge of Baccarat to identify your piece.

Many makers made these gilt and glass boxes I think so it will be a case of close up photographs and someone being able to remember or spot it in a catalogue or having the Baccarat book perhaps.

Many thanks for the welcome.

I can see no markings anywhere.

Incidentally, doesn't it have unusually large compartments for the stamps?

Thank you for the photos.
It's very pretty.  I don't know anything about Stamp boxes but I'm now interested to find out more (I do love boxes of all kinds though).

Hopefully someone with access to Baccarat info will come along to help you.
It can take time as not everyone visits daily so do keep an eye on any email responses you might get.
