The great thing about these weights is that there are so many available it is possible to start a large collection and then write articles about the different types of cane and their colours. And with other features included, maybe periods of manufacture could be suggested within the generic range of "1964 - 1980".

Oh hang on ... Richard More has done something similar but not been able to be period-specific. ;)
