Ysart Related?
« on: October 16, 2018, 04:07:18 PM »
Hi,

I picked up this weight today and wondering if I'm right in thinking it is Ysart related? It measures 3 inches diameter and has substantial wear to base with rough pontil mark.

TIA,

Adam

Yres, it was made by Paul Ysart.

With a "jasper" ground and a clear dome (i.e. not tinted with a shade of grey or yellow), I suggest the later Monart period of 1950s to early 60s. I do not think it would be from Paul's time at Caithness Glass and certainly not into the 1970s.

It is a good find.
