Bought this piece at the thrift store because it was so unique. My first thought was something Scandinavian and it turns out Kosta Boda does have a line called "igloo" that's similar but doesn't quite hit the mark. Anyone have any insight on this piece? It measures 3" tall.

I think it might be this one seen here https://www.rubylane.com/item/1812717-C118/Mid-Century-IITTALA-Trio-Candle-Holder?search=1  if the attribution is correct, i.e. Tapio Wirkkala for Iittala, Finland.
Love it!  Amazing design.

Quite a "rarity" in that case? Sorry to say I have my doubts about the attribution. Never seen one and don't think it is listed in books about Tapio Wirkkala. You might want to try to find out more or some exact facts.

There is a piece that looks similar, attributed to US maker L.E.Smith, and it is reversible.  Does yours stand up both ways?  Here is a link to the site, and they give a link for more info about this maker

I would have bought it too!

Thanks for the replies! I ran into the same Smith piece recently somewhere online and realized I had misattributed it. Live and learn, unfortunately.
