Art Nouveau vase
« on: December 02, 2018, 03:03:17 PM »
Hello,

Can anyone help me to identify this small Art Nouveau vase?
The height is 12 cm. I bought it in Belgium a few years ago.
Is it original or a modern copy?
Thank you.

:) Hello and welcome to the board.
Do you have acess to an ultra violet light, to see if this is Uranium glass?
If it is, it will glow bright green under the light.
I can't help wondering if this is an old piece which somebody has decorated with glass paints and tubes of stuff, piped on?
The finish of the glass itself looks like some Loetz finishes which would be found on Uranium glass.
It would help a lot to see an image of the base.

This isn't my area, I hope somebody who knows more than I do will be able to help you more. :)
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Please can you show a clear photograph of the base of the vase, hopefully showing a pontil mark?

It reminds me of  some pieces by  Ludwig Sütterlin.

Thanks
m
