Pressed glass bowl - small flower feet, Czech??
« on: January 08, 2019, 04:01:44 PM »
Please can anyone help identify this bowl?  It's big (around 12 inches/ 30cm across, and 3 inches/ 8cm) high.  The 3 central raised flowers on the underside form little feet for it to rest on.  The floral and leave decoration is moulded quite deeply into the underside.  I've tried looking into French, German or Czech designs but haven't been able to identify it as yet.  When I first saw it I thought it might be Czech, but that really is a guess.

Gentle bump. Any ideas anyone?!  I don't mind if you send me on a wild goose chase - I'm happy to spend time pouring over glass books, and frequently do  :)  I've exhausted my initial ideas on this one and would love to hear other thoughts on this bowl.

Thank you for replying.  Yes, I did look in Pressglas pavilion site.  I agree, it's a wonderful site, but unfortunately didn't see the bowl there.  I also looked in the Sklo database CD that came with Marcus Newhall's book.  I looked through my books, but these are not a complete resource.  Any other thoughts of where I could look?

Thank you for the link Anne.  Haven't been through every single one, but just spent a happy hour or so looking at Brockwitz, Reich, Walter, various Czech musterbuchs. (I had looked a while ago but went back again).  No success yet.  Are there any good catalogues of Sabino?
