History glass industry
Anne:
Christine, there is a volume called Evidence on the Employment of Children 1842 which covers working conditions for children in the glassmaking industry, amongst others. If you've not seen it, it is worth looking at. If you cannot find a printed copy, then check out Archive CD Books as they have produced it as a searchable CD-ROM scanned copy.
David E:
Spoke to Roger and he isn't aware of the periodical you mention, but I did see a copy of:
The National Flint Glass Maker's Friendly Society of Great Britain and Ireland
Is this what you are looking for?
Although they only have a few very early copies (I took a photo of the April 1858 cover if you're interested), he is sure they have copies of the Glass Circle. I can only suggest you contact Broadfield House and either speak to him, or one of his collegues.
