Orrefors vase and sig question
« on: January 31, 2019, 07:22:09 PM »
Hi all. Does anyone happen to recognize this Orrefors vase? It's simple but elegant and I would like to be able to ID the line that it comes from. Measures 10" (25.5 cm) tall. Secondly, I found a good site to decode the letters and numbers in these signatures but have only gotten as far as ID'ing Nils Landberg as the artist. Would someone be willing to walk me through the signature below? Thanks for any help offered!

Bumping this. I assume most are aware of this reference but this is what I was using to ID Nils Lanberg as the artist. Am I even correct on that assumption? If anyone else make out the letters / numbers and attribute them to the code reference, I'd be grateful. Having a hard time myself.

It is a Nils Landberg vase, up to 1980 he signed with "N"
Your sign is Orrefors N 3642 121
3642 is the id/articel number for this vase.

Thank you so much Jonas. I am much obliged :) You obviously have a lot of practice reading these etches. I wasn't sure if the last two characters in the 4 character ID were even numbers. I can see it now that you say it. Does that put this vase as made in 1957?

It is in the 1960 catalog, and in it are designs from 55-60.
1957 is correct that this is designed but it was made many years after to. Not easy to say exact year when it was made.
Have a nice weekend
