Please help - new member - Lady Glass Lamp - Maker ????
« on: August 17, 2006, 09:25:44 AM »
Hi to you all.
I have been visiting the Glass Message Board for the past year and have enjoyed the banter and found much of the information very helpful.
I am hoping that someone may be able to identify my pink glass Lady Lamp.
She stands 380mm high in total including the base, the lady is just over 180mm high and the base is 150mm in diameter.
The lady has a cloth draped over her shoulder and is wearing an art deco style skullcap. The lady is a solid flat base and sits in a depression in the top of the lamp base.

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to give.

Regards

Hi Cheri,

Will try to post a larger picture, having trouble with my security not letting me complete a larger file upload.
Will sort it out and repost.

Cheers

Neil

Neil, there are size limits on GlassGallery. Your image needs to be less than 200kb in size, and measure less than 1000 pixels x 1000 pixels in size. If you need help with the upload either check out the Help page on the Gallery here: http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/glassgallery_help.html or e-mail us and explain your problem and one of the moderators will come help you out.

Thanks Anne,

I think I exceeded the pixel size limit, lets hope this works now.

How does it compare with this which I think is attributed to Mueller & co?

Try Muller Freres or Mueller Freres. French company, 1895 to 1933. But their stuff was often marked

Thanks to you all for your help.
It a great help knowing who the makers are when trying to catalogue
my glass collection.
Has anyone else seen other versions of this lamp.??
Would love to see any other pieces by this maker.

Cheers

Neil

Neil

A very nice piece, back in 2002 I had a uranium green figurine just like the one on your lamp, mine had a Reg No on the base and the word FOREIGN.

Here is a copy of an email from Geoff Timberlake after a search of the records, in May 2002

Hi Tony,

Success!  Your revised number was one of two taken out by L Cohen on the 4/11/1929. Unfortunately that is all the information I can find.  I am certain that Cohen is not an UK glass manufacturer but is most likely an importer/dealer which would explain the FOREIGN part of the marking.  I will put this information on Angela's Message Board.
Glad to have been of help.

regards  Geoff Timberlake.

Still do not know who made this design.

This was posted as a topic by me on the old GMB sadly it crashed and we lost a lot of info
