Hi. Needs some assistance although this may be impossible. This bowl is from a New York City lady interior designer's estate who worked in the city for 45 years. In 1959 she took a vacation to Italy & had this bowl made specifically for her NYC park avenue apt. She actually took sketches with her to show what she wanted. It is simply marked Murano Italy. It is large at 17" diameter, 5 " in height, large polished pontil, 15 medium sized black threads surround the piece on the underside. Any estimates are appreciated although since she had it made specifically for her it's probably not realistic to pinpoint anyone. Thanks, Ken

The label is egg shaped red foil & simply says Made in Murano Italy in silver. The word Murano is in script. Thanks for any ideas.

Hello Ken,
More photos of the bowl and label would be helpful.
If you can take a close up of the lines going through it, and of the label, that would be great.

Also, if it is fact that the piece was bought in 1959, it would be an increadible help to have that photo of the label. Not sure if you saw but there is a Labels thread that is ongoing, and we are trying to document Murano labels and any info on them we can. To have a such a specific date to go along with a label will help many.

Thanks for the advise from both of you, I found the Murano label...I must say mine is in much better condition. Here are a couple more photos including two of the bottom showing the curling of the piece. Unfortunately the Murano label certainly does not seem to add anything for attribution to a particular maker. Ken

This is a very generic label I think. Someone else might be able to shed more light on this, but I don't think this will help at all.

Too generic to be useful. However, it appears to be post 1970s to me.

Thanks, but negative to the post-70's. I've known the dealer I picked it up from for 15 years & she had the notes then woman left her daughter, literally an entire 80 page three ring notebook. The dealer bought 15K in jewelery & 9K in furniture & the lady documented everything because she knew her daughter would not have any idea what/where/when. The note clearly said June 1959 vacation to Florence, side trip to Murano to have this hand made for the apartment. Ken
