Can anyone ID the maker? - ID = Masserini, Barocco pattern
« on: January 12, 2021, 08:04:29 PM »
I know I've seen examples of this before, and I know I know the maker, but I just cant quite put my finger on it......can anyone tell me the maker of this centrepiece? It's 25cm wide and 16cm tall; it's been bugging me for months!

They are Italian made, I can't pull the maker's name out of my memory though. I had several bits of this a while back.

Found it! Had another google, and found another identical bowl here on GM, identified (from the box) as Italian Masserini Glass, in a pattern called Barocco - thanks!

Masserini - yes, I was tired last night and couldn't drag the name out of my brain!

Few words about Masserini.

Angelo Masserini at the end of the 70's acquired the barkupted Società Artistico Vetraria (S.A.V.) placed in Altare.
Altare is a small city nearby Savona considered one of the glass cities in Italy.
S.A.V. was renamed in SAVAM Soc. Art. Vetr. di Angelo Masserini and moved form the old plant to a new one.
Anyway in 1992 SAVAM closed.
