Whitefriars flint vase - or not?
« on: September 29, 2006, 12:55:44 PM »
This is vase I bought as a Whitefriars flint tapered vase - I thought it was model 9834.

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-3477

However, it is just under 8 ins tall, instead of the 7 it should be. So is it another model I can't track down, or not WF at all?
Thank you very much!

It looks good to me, Lynne.

All hand-finished vases vary in size, and admittedly a whole inch is quite a difference, but all the other characteristics are right for a 9834 - colour, shape, surface pattern, base, fire-polished rim.  Haven't seen a flint one before, but it's in the catalogue.

Thanks Chris, does seem rather a large discrepancy in size though...

But I agree all else is ok, so I shall just suspend my disbelief.   8)
Thank you very much!
