Really interested if anyone can approximate the dates on this jar and give a little more insight! Just received this as a birthday gift from my husband and I’m slightly obsessed with it! Please help x

States that it’s foeniculum vulgare, added underneath “ord: apiales”

Welcome to the board. Unfortunately, your jar is overwhelmed by the background and very hard to see. A pale background in good daylight would be more helpful along with a picture or description of the base and the dimensions, but you might get better results on a more specialist site or group (pharmaceuticals).

The pictures are much better thank you. The label translates as common fennel; fennel belongs to the apiales order of plants. The musuem was founded in 1842, so your sample can't be older than that. However, I doubt you'll trace the glass maker
