ARE THESE STRATHEARN AND PAUL Y?
« on: September 12, 2006, 12:39:26 AM »
Is this a Strathearn as listed or is it possibly Vsart? If Strathearn, is it an early one? A new eBay listing - # 300027059818

Is the fish weight Paul Ysart? Seller from Germany states he bought the weight in Glascow. Another new eBay listing - # 300027056106

You must learn to include links!!!
ysart??
vasart?

Which is done by using the URL button and  typing
word you want to appear

Anyway the second is vasart not strathearn (the small bubbles and blurry canes are a good sign). The first - I'll leave that one for Kev.

Regarding the fish weight ... I think it would be a good idea to get more info. A couple of photos of the base (angled and straight on) would be useful. And it should be determined whether there is perhaps a "py" cane in the base - sometimes sig canes can be missed, even when set in the base.

Also, please check my page on fake py weights thoroughly for comparisons of canes (overall and the detail of centres etc) and also the style and colouring of the ground:
http://www.btinternet.com/~kevh.glass/pages/fake-py/fake-py-weights.htm

The only example I have of a PY fish weight like the one offered is at:
http://www.btinternet.com/~kevh.glass/pages/paul-ysart/signed/Detail013.htm
Please view both items side by side to see if you feel the quality is similar or not.
