Gorgeous gift I was given...no idea of maker or origin....
« on: September 25, 2006, 09:35:18 AM »
Hi all,

I was given this bowl as a present this weekend ! My friend got it from an auction because she knew I collected glass. I think its a vintage piece, quite heavy...and the colour is actually a darker red than the pics show, with orange colour of about 2cm on each side where the tops meet and some clear on the very tips.  Measures 19 1/2cm high x 16cm x 16cm. Reminds me of two hands meeting..and Ive used up my download looking at ebay and websites to try and find something similar..
ANY help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow. I, for one, have no idea what it is. The color is extraordinarily rich. The more glass I see on this site, the more amazed I become.

Oooh Selina, now that's interesting becasue I have one only in purple, cased in clear!

One of those, "I must put this on GMB for ID some day" :D

Mine also measures similarly and I always refer to it as a 'Hand' vase as well. I suspect the base might give some clues so I wait with interest. I get the feeling it may be fairly recent though.
