Lalique ?
« on: September 27, 2006, 10:38:18 AM »
I've a little object signed on the base R.Lalique; it seems a little grenouille. I've checked it with the car mascotte Grenouille in the Catalogue Raisonné but measures and design are quite different. It's 5 cm diameter (base) and 5,5 high.
I wonder if any one can help me to identify it. Images are on Glass Gallery as "Lalique?"
Thanks
Francesco (Italy)

I saw a similar bowl/vase at the Lalique exhibt at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, which runs through January. I hope it is Lalique. There are a number of very good and well-researched books with impressive photographs on Lalique with many creations and signatures shown. Of course, they'd have to be available to you in Italy.

Hi

Sadly I know pretty much all such items in the main Marcilhac book
and I can't remember seeing this piece anywhere there (all 1000+pages)

So I'd say 99.9% certain not Rene Lalique

sorry

Mike
