My parents went to Great Britain in 1975 and brought back this superb early Caithness. After two weeks in London, they were toddling around the English countryside for a couple of weeks and ended up in Bath. They bought this Caithness at a gift shop. They can't remember what the name of the shop was. My parents still have the original box and keep the paperweight on display within the opened box in a showcase in their house. They also don't recall exactly what they paid for it, but my mother said it was less than 20 GBP. I had forgotten they had it until I began reading about Frank's project.
It's one of the first Caithness paperweights; created almost at the beginning of its incredible history. It's production code is CT22. It's style is Genesis. The designer is Colin Terris. It's scratch-signed on the bottom with the year it was made - 1974, the edition numbrs - 164/500, the word "Genesis," and the initials CTPH, which are for Colin Terris and Peter Holmes. The representational design is of bubbling molten lava and swirling gasses creating the Earth.
Frank, if you want or need brighter photographs, I think I can get better images. Four different views are below, including close-up and box.
