Strathearn tall red flower weight - Official Name (Design)?
«

This Strathearn tall red flower paperweight probably has an official name. Does anyone know what Strathearn would have called it?
Although mine has the S cane, a second cane is faulty and does not show a date, but I understand the second cane should have a year of manufacture date such as the number 72 in it. Is this correct? Were these Strathearns dated? Are all of them dated 72 or are there 70s, 71s, and 73s - and possibly other years? Thanks.

Oh well, P6 Flower it is, Frank. Were they dated? Or am I imagining reading something about that somewhere? As I wrote above, mine has the S, but a blob of a second potential cane. Was that the would-be dated cane? Thanks.

Better to check Richards site on that level of detail...

I also have a "tall red" Strathearn flower paperweight similar to yours, Wrightoutlook. The cane in mine can be seen only from the base and contains S79 in it. I see no other canes anywhere. The site Frank recommended has an earlier tall flower weight in which there is both an "S" cane as well as a separate date cane.
It's nice to know more .... Lily

Thanks Lily. That's good to know. It's interesting that there's a single S (plus date) cane. As I noted, my cane has the S and the second potential cane is a blob. I wonder if the differing cane styles has something to do with different workers or front office decisions.

Just a word of thanks to all who answer enquiries and those that ensure that topics like this are kept!
I have just bought a weight with an "S77" cane in the base. Took about 2 minutes of searching to find this post and then scoot over to Richards site to find this pic:

which is very similar to mine although 1 year away.
What would one do without a resourch like this!
Thanks to one and all!
