Peceny ashtray?
« on: October 06, 2006, 01:46:41 PM »
Whilst rummaging through boxes of glass in my loft I came across this nice blue ashtray:

http://glassgallery.yobunny.org.uk/displayimage.php?pos=-3555

I've just noticed that it appears almost identical in design to the Peceny compote set (Fig 3. at http://www.sklounion.com/SkloUnion/Sklo1.html).  Mod: Dead link

The base appears the same, and the bowl has 3 soft moulded lines that swirl up to each apex of the triangle.  I think the compote set items do, too.

The ashtray has a ridge at each apex (continuing the lines) in which a ciggy can be rested.

It's 150 mm at widest and 40 mm high.

Another one for Marcus, I suspect.

TIA
Chris

Chris,
You'll have to stop showing me all this stuff, or start selling it to me.
You are absolutely correct with your id.

Marcus

Having bought ok, last night, and brilliantly this am, I'll be fine, but broke.

Seriously, some good and interesting items you are finding. For example this piece. Who would have thought of a compote set with matching ashtray, hardly a popular choice now (too much ash in the fruit salad),   but then possibly a good line, as the ashtray generally was not sold with the set.

Regards,

Marcus

Hi,
One is ebay item number 280032294073, which was ok, (not a bargain) but needed, as the "Moravia" pattern, was a significant aspect of that years new designs.
The other, (images to follow on arrival), was a Vizner "Lens" jardiniere for not a lot.

I'm trying a delicate balancing act between finances and acquiring examples to use to illustrate the web-site, and finances and buying research materials on the other.

Regards,

Marcus

I think I may have a Feston dessert set. Is this if any interest? If so I will disturb the dust on the wardrobe
