Today, Sunday 10-8-06, the Swedish press reported that Timo Sarpaneva is dead.

He will be remembered as one of the great Finnish artist/designers of the 20th Century and many of his designs in glass are considered to be classics in the international market place.

Oh dear, how very, very sad.
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

I'm sure the Swedish press are correct, but Millers 20th Century Glass book states that he passed away last year.

Regardless of that, RIP Timo Sarpaneva  :(

A true designer icon who will be greatly missed, some of his pieces are real design classics.
