« on: October 11, 2006, 11:53:29 PM »
Hi, is this piece a vintage murano?
I've seen sometihng similar before but i can't remember where or what  :?
( it was in a lot marked russian 70'ies design along with some pottery )

Any help on identifying would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi alexander,

I think this is most likely Czechoslovakian from the early 20th century (Edwardian period). The foot and the pinchwork on the handles looks quite typical of Czech work.

But Russian could possibly be feasible and I suppose Murano might be in with shout, too ... baskets like this were made in many places.

Thanks, it was the pinched stuff that made me think it wasn't murano after all, i like the colors and the hefty handle tho  :D
