Certainly looks like one to me, although I can't find my Mark Hill book.  I saw one of these at Detling last weekend on a stall and actually stuck my finger inside.  Thought it would be all knobbly in there, but it wasn't.   :)

Norman, it looks much like the lampbase which Marcus posted here: http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,3969.0.html

hi Anne.....gee many thanks for the link to marcus....mine is exactly the same dimentions and all.....there is no evidence on mine that it is a lamp base...as there are no metal attachments....so perhaps a vase...simple has a hole in the top which runs deep into the central glass...
it was not cheap but fell in love with it and paid the price.....300Sfr.
i have just seen another today slightly smaller in the same shading.....

Very nice piece, Norman. There's a similar piece on eBay right now,  260329858764. I've only seen these pieces on eBay and the prices are usually just a little below what you paid. And then there's postage, so what you paid wasn't out of line. These pieces seem to be the most highest priced production pieces from Czechoslovakia that I have seen. Good find.

Yep, yours would have been a vase rather than the lampbase, Norman. Yours is more likely to be early production, by Vizner himself, than later (so M tells me!) and yes a good find as David says. Well found!
