Fritz Heckert Enameled Vase, please take a look?
« on: October 16, 2006, 01:16:52 AM »
Hi everyone!

A friend of mine asked me to see if I could find out about this piece. It's been identified as a Fritz Heckert vase, and is initialed - but it's somewhat different than other Heckert pieces he's seen.

Can someone take a look and verify that this is a Heckert vase, and perhaps let us know more info about it?

Many thanks,

Kelli

Although it's initialled "F.H." the enamelled decoration doesn't look right for a Fritz Heckert piece...

Thanks, Glasshound - any ideas on who may have done this piece based on those initials, and number?

The signature looks in the right format for Fritz Heckert -but I agree neither the enamelling nor the shape are particularly him.

Most likely an anonymous glass enameller and someone later has 'helped' it along with a FH signature.

Photos rather fail here - it only I could handle it, it might suddenly feel much righter!

Cheers

M

Hi Folks!

Anne just emailed me about this, and let me know the photos had been removed at some point - I have never removed images from yobunny, so not sure what happened. I uploaded them here in order to keep them, and I no longer have images or that piece.

Anne, I tried to respond to your message my "Messages" section, and got a popup saying I was "not allowed to send Personal Messages". Not sure what's up with that, either.

Hope you all are doing well.

Kelli

Hi Kelli, thanks for popping in to reply. :) I'm baffled as to why your images have disappeared from GlassGallery, unless it was a server glitch of some type. :(  I'll see if I can fin them in an old back up file somewhere...  watch this space. :)

By the way, you can't reply via Personal Message on the board, as it's a one-way system for mods to alert members quickly. You should be able to use the on board email system though - click the wee envelope below my name to do so. :)
