Clichy?
« on: October 18, 2006, 01:45:52 PM »
I have this little blue and opal/white toothpick holder in the latest haul I bought, and I have found a little pink and white filigrana vase with the same polished flat base, attributed to Clichy.

What do you think?  It is very different to Murano somehow.  The ribbons can all be felt on the inside, but the outside is completely smooth, and seems to have a clear glass casing to the outside only.  It is 2 ins 50 mm tall.

here it is:

Thanks.
Thank you very much!

Having fallen in love with and bought this from Lynne, I thought I'd give this topic a bump. Can anyone make any suggestions as to place of origin or manufacturer? It really is adorable - one of those necessary extravagances!

I'd forgotten about this, but now I'm reminded I have to say that I saw a couple of very similar pieces at 'The National', which the seller had labelled 'Clichy'!
