Neodymium Glass Rose Bowl
« on: October 19, 2006, 03:02:35 PM »
Thank you to the Glass message board I did not miss this Glass Rose Bowl !!
have had great fun trying to get this photographed in various lights!
Incandescent bulbs and daylight are more or less the same violet/ lavender.
Fluorescent light changes to Blue.
I looked on the link Dencill gave " neowhatsit glass"-grateful thanks.
This bowl looks cut glass traditional  to me- I cannot see any mould lines anyway.
Any ideas as to a possible UK manufacturer or other source.
Thank you for looking.
Jean

Hi,

I think this possibly from the Lavender range of cut crystal by Caithness.  I only have the 1992 catalogue with this range in and it doesn't show this exact shape, but there are very similar pieces.

I know these don't appear in the 1989 or 1993 catalogues, so 1990 or 1991 would be most likely to show this shape....., that's if it is a Caithness piece of course.

Best wishes,
Pete
