I was thinking of maybe trying to get these birds/animals at auction tomorrow - I am assuming they are just generic Murano, but does anyone recognise anything good about them that would make me value them higher?

Your instinct is spot-on. These are circa 1970s "generic" Murano figurines. They might have some decorative value at an antique show, but in my experience are very hard to sell, especially online.
