Sag bending - when was it first developed?
« on: October 19, 2006, 09:15:06 AM »
Any idea when sag bending was first developed and used as a commercially viable process? It was around in the 1930s for architectural purposes, but was it used any earlier than this for specific purposes?

For curved window glass, maybe not as posh as 'architectural purposes', much longer - probably 17th century or whenever the first curved glazed window was made!

Sag bending is one of the early innovations in the field of glass for buildings and residences.

By the way, overall, I'm finding this "Slump" "Transfer" forum to be incredibly interesting.
