Barovier vase, but which Barovier?
« on: October 23, 2006, 11:55:09 PM »
Hi, i hope someone can help me with this, i'm still new to Murano glass.

The piece is credited to Barovier & Toso but the signature doesn't match.

Any help with id and valuation would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Alexander

Maybe they were drunk when they made it and signed it

It looks a little wonky

Hello Alexander,
It doesnt look like any Murano signature i've seen before.
I'm going to bump this to the main glass board as soon as I get a responce from you, so you know where your topic went.

Thanks - it's a real conundrum, i've spent hours and hours on websites trying to match the signature and style.

I recall seeing something similar at a website dedicated to Murano glass but i haven't been able to find it again.

I've seen solo Ercole Barovier signatures and the 'r' on the end matches but all i've seen have had a lower case 'b' - so i'm officially stumped.

Can anyone help out Alexander?
I dont believe that is a Barovier signature, since its missing 1 or 2 letters.
Maybe one here can recignize it?

Good luck with this one Alexander!
