Old American Dry Measure Glass Cup Anchor Hocking? Indiana?
« on: November 10, 2006, 01:33:25 AM »
Hi, not sure about this one. It looks just like the blue sapphire dry measure made by fire king, only there are two differences. One mine is crystal clear, and secondly, I do not know what the bottom of the fire king looks like.
Connie or Glen I thought you might be able to help me.

Measures 3 15/16" tall x 3" wide, 8 ounce cup, 1/4 increments on one side, 1/3 on the other.

HI Vintage Rose -

Your measuring cup looks like the one pictured on page 117, Florence's Kitchen Glassware of the Depression Era copyright 1995/updated 1997

It is on the 5th row, 2nd from the right - but it is an advertising one with the words "STICKNEY & POOR" Boston Spice Co.

The Fire King ones shown appear to have a slightly different top edge (no band) and the foot of the FK ones are slightly rimmed.  Yours looks perfectly flat as does the one in the book.

Unfortunately Florence does not name the maker of the advertising measuring cup.
