Rindskopf Royal Diamonds Carnival?
« on: November 09, 2006, 01:07:37 PM »
Hi All  :D  Glen

The first vase has me stumped.  :?

I think that the second one of these items could be Rindskopf's Royal Diamonds pattern. The pattern looks the same as one shown in Glens' booklet 'Network Special #1' but I can't find this shape in the catalogue. Is it a celery? or just a small vase? or is it even what I think it is?

As always, very many thanks in advance.  :D
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Hi Della - you have two interesting pieces there - both with a tint of mystery about them.

The first (vase or possible celery) is currently not traced to a maker. I have had the twin to your vase for a number of years, and I still have not been able to give it a firm attribution. I've seen a number of them - all sourced in either Belgium, the Netherlands or Denmark. They have a Brockwitz or Walther "look" to them - but so far I have not found the piece in any catalogue.

The second one is certainly like Rindskopf's Royal Diamonds - but I cannot be totally sure that it is theirs. The pattern has similarities with Eda's Svea, but lacks the thick out-turned lip. (BTW I would say it is a vase).

For both of these items, the best I could currently advise is to say that they are almost certainly European, but cannot currently be positively attributed to a maker.

Maybe - hopefully - someone reading this topic will have spotted them in a catalogue and can help us out. I'll also keep looking

Thank you, Glen.    8)

I must say, my first thoughts on the first vase were that it had a Brockwitz feel to it, but wasn't daring enough to say so.

The second one, I compared to the diagram of the sugar bowl and then saw the photo on the centre page.

Off to Belgium again this weekend, if it doesn't rain. Wonder if I will find any treasures?
